"everybody everybody wants to love...

...everybody everybody wants to be loved."

I just have some people on my mind right now who really need my love, or anybody's, for that matter.

While thinking of them I was reminded of something my New Testament teacher said in class yesterday:

Anytime you meet someone new, treat them as if they're going through a huge trial, and 50% of the time you'll be right.

Woah, right?

I don't want to lecture, but I hope we can all try harder to be kinder to people. Or, what I really mean is, try harder to be receptive to people's feelings and not just assume that their lives are peachy keen. Because some people really just need a friend, or really just need you to remind them that you love them and everything will be okay. I'm working on it for sure.
Just something to think about.

10 Things I Hate (About You! ...... jk. you're cool. :))

1. really cold wind.

2. when people disrespect authority figures.

3. being late. (because I always am...)

4. being late because of someone else the one time I would have actually been on time.

5. when one person starts putting their stuff away in class followed by everyone putting their stuff away before the teacher is done talking. (see #2)

6. mood swings.

7. taking a test and thinking you know every answer and then realizing that apparently you were wrong. like today. when I missed 10 questions and thought I missed none.

8. when people call other people ugly. that person is a child of God. I'm pretty sure He doesn't think they're ugly.

9. how I worry so much about what others think of me.

10. hating things.

conference weekend - sunday

(before I say anything, I just want to let you know that Spice Girls is blaring from my roommates' room, naturally. they are making a music video right now. and soon you will see pictures of their fabulous attire. :))

so, sunday was great as well. =) (I talked about saturday a couple of posts down, in case you're like "what the heck are you talking about?")

Photobucket

I was happy because everyone was gone except sadie. (okay... that came out wrong. I was happy that sadie was HOME this time because she wasn't home on saturday. there we go. :))

somehow taking pictures of my snack-preparing process was enjoyable. enjoy with me, and wish that this deliciousness was in your tummay.

let's blog and see what happens.

I just feel like writing thoughts down.
Not really sure what I'm going to talk about.. but I'm afraid if I never write, I'll forget.
Speaking of that, I absolutely love my classes here at BYU.
How the heck did that phrase follow "Speaking of that"? I shall explain. :)
My classes here are so great. I'm seriously inspired and enlightened every day in every single class. Even biology. It's kind of freaky. (However, I should mention that my biology class is unlike ANY biology class you've ever been to. It's insane... and I love it.)
I often times find myself sitting in class just completely content and inspired. Things are revealed to me, life makes more sense, I get excited for the future, I realize how awesome my life is. I want to become a better person.
It's the same thing every day, and it's awesome.. but I'M GOING TO FORGET THESE FEELINGS! :(
I want to start writing down the impressions I have in class. Or the amazing tangents my professors get on. Those aren't things I write in my notes, because they're clearly unimportant to the curriculum. But oh, how important they are to my life!
Journals are bomb. Sure, I've written in my journal like, four times in the past year (ugh. that statement depresses me so much), but most of my life I've been a very dedicated journalist. And I'm so glad I have been, because even though I just wrote down the mundane happenings of my day, they've become super special to me now.
However, I need to make a switch.
I need to switch from journaling in a "document my daily life" kind of way to a "document my inspired moments" kind of way.
I've just been having so many of those moments ever since I came to BYU, and I'm changing a lot every day, and I don't want to wake up one day and be like "Huh. Weird. I wonder how I got to this point." I WANT TO REMEMBER!
Wow, this post is getting long. It is probably so boring. Sorry!
Anyway, that's just been on my mind. But what have I been doing? PUTTING IT OFF like everything else in my life. HA. :( Well, God gave us 100 years to live because He knew we would need that long to master all of our flaws, right? ;)
I love you. Whoever you are. WRITE IN YOUR JOURNAL! You'll just be so happy you did later.
Just. Do. It.
(...is it obvious enough that I'm trying to persuade myself as well?)
p.s. I didn't give myself enough credit - I HAVE kept a journal for the past year, but only one that I wrote in at church and devotionals. It's full now, and I need a new one! I'm super picky though. It has to be just right. Know of any stores/websites with journals you particularly like?

we're awesome.

so sadie and I are freakishly alike.

freakishly.

we've only lived together for 2 months, and basically dread any second we're apart.

I know, it sounds a little creepy, but it's okay.

today was another affirmation of our oneness.

I sent sadie a text.

later, I looked through old texts sadie had sent me (I know, it sounds a little creepy, but it's okay).

check it out:

Jennie:
"you know when you say bye to someone rly loud and in a weird voice and its just awkward? yeah"

Sadie:
"You know how sometimes you say something in passing and it comes out awkwardly loud? Yeah."

yeah. 'nuff said.

oh, and by the way...

RIGHT as I was typing "check it out" ... the girl on the TV said "check it out."

I can't make these things up people.

(...okay, I definitely could have made that up, but I didn't!)

conference weekend - saturday

General Conference is a biannual event in our church where we get to hear from the highest leaders in our church, including our prophet, all within a few hours, and all on TV!
It involves two 2-hour sessions on Saturday and two 2-hour sessions on Sunday.
Everyone loves Conference because you get to stay home in your pajamas, eat, and be tremendously enlightened. :)
Although I would have liked to post these pictures 2 weeks ago... :) ...here's my Saturday morning in pictures!

Oh, and inbetween sessions, I bought these stamps. Cutest stamps ever, right??

I’m so grateful for Conference and the opportunity to be taught by inspired leaders. It’s just an altogether awesome experience. =) For more info on Conference, or to listen to some of the talks yourself, just click here.

how to improvise 101

so, a while ago, I bought this mascara:

...and loved it! (yes, in waterproof. I always wear waterproof. never know when you're going to cry in public.. or.. get water on your face...? not bad at all if you have the right makeup remover!)

but then it ran out. :(

(that's such a funny phrase. who came up with that anyway? speaking of anyway...)

so, I decided instead of buying the same mascara, I'd try something new. pretty much when it comes to mascara and concealer, I get a different brand every time. still looking for the perfect fit.

so I decide to try this:

I'd heard good enough things about it. and it really is fine mascara.. but the brush is just too wimpy for me. /: it does not compare to the thick brush of the collasal (which looks gross in the picture - I don't know why).

"darn it!" thought I. "7 bucks wasted."

(probably.. can't remember. you get my drift.)

then! a stroke of genious hits me!

old brush + new tube = ....?

epic success. :)
(like surriously, it screws on perfectly & everything. holla!)
