But seriously.
Last night and today have really lifted my spirits... because of music!!
Last night we had the grand opening of the Shekel Shack... the little student-run snack bar here in the center. And it was really just a party. We played a CD with arab music haha and then eventually got into music we knew better. We had a dance competition for free ice cream and then a bunch of people started dancing in the middle of the floor for a while. SO great.
Then today, about half of us went into the parking garage to assemble hygiene kits (apparently we do this every other week and send them everywhere). IT WAS SO FUN. We blared music (this time music we knew, ha) and it was seriously a party, and so needed. In an hour and 45 minutes we made 2100 kits!! Each had 2 towels, 2 bars of soap, a tube of toothpaste and like 4 toothbrushes in them. The JC is really known for sending out their hygiene and school kits to the community - it's awesome. I cannot think of a better thing to do with my time than serve others while partying, haha. It was so good and so bonding. MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC. You don't really realize how much you miss it until you're no longer driving in the car everywhere and spending all your time surfing the internet. I just loved it so much. True, genuine joy.
Okay... time for a quick nap before going on our field trip to the Western Wall. :)

You know that I'm dying right now.
I was just thinking that your hygiene kits may go to help some refugee in a dire situation in a neighboring country. That small bit of service could bring inexplicable comfort to a suffering soul. Makes me want to get off the couch and help someone... Almost. ;)
